Group Classes & Age
Age is a consideration, but children are leveled into groups by skill, comfort, and confidence as follows:
DENA BLUM-ROTHMAN
CERTIFIED INFANT AQUATIC SURVIVAL SPECIALIST &
INFANT AQUATICS CERTIFYING INSTRUCTOR
All new students must complete private survival skill lessons before joining group classes.
Joining Weekly Group Classes
Your child will be ready to join a weekly group class upon completion of private lessons. Continuing attendance in a group class is an essential component of the aquatic learning process. Not only does it ensure retention of the basic survival skills learned in private lessons, but it allows children to progress and improve their swimming. Best of all, our group classes are FUN!
Session Schedule & Enrollment
Group sessions begin in September, January, and June, and are scheduled every day of the week (Monday–Sunday). Cost is prorated according to the number of weeks remaining in the current session to accommodate students who finish private lessons
and join mid-session.
Class Length & Group Size
Our group classes are designed to run up to 30 minutes, and the actual class length may vary depending on how many swimmers are present that day. Smaller groups naturally move through skills more quickly, while larger groups use the full class time.
- 1 swimmer: about 10 minutes
- 2 swimmers: about 20 minutes
- 3–4 swimmers: the full 30 minutes
This structure ensures each child receives efficient, high-quality learning customized to the group size.
